There are many ways to save on stamps, paper and a trip to the post office or billing site. Every stamp is worth about 5 miles of driving. Online Bill Pay If you have a checking account that offers online bill pay, take advantage of this feature....

Profile Information

Hometown:
Milton, WV
Type of savings/coupons I am looking for:
I like free or as close to free as I can get. I mainly like grocery coupons but I'm always on the lookout for retail coupons if it's a really good deal. I love to bargain shop online when it comes to traveling.
I look for advice on:
Grocery Savings, Pet Savings, Health and Beauty Savings, Home and Garden Savings
Favorite brands I would like to save on:
I'm not really a brand person, I like all brands. I shop around. I've learned that all brands are comparable and sometimes off brands are just as good.
Favorite Savings Tip:
Compare coupons to the weekly ads. Save all the coupons from the weekly papers and when the weekly ads come out, look for coupons to use on sale items and save. Spend a little extra time comparing prices before you go shopping. Cheap is not always better.
Relationship Status:
Single
About Me:
I live in a small town with big values and I like it that way. I live in a big house with a big yard and I have a simple life. I look after both sets of my grandparents and make sure they have what they need. I spend a lot of time cleaning up old things and rearanging furniture. I love Spring and Fall and the changing of the seasons. There's nothing more fulfulling than planting a crop and then harvesting it for the final time.
Favorite Music:
I like Korn, U2, just about anything. I’ve listened to country and didn’t know it and the same with Christian rock and I liked it. My mood has changed a lot over the years but there is one genre that I think we all share in common that we all have to fall back on when the latest music fad is fading out, and that is 'Southern Rock'. "Turn it up".
Favorite TV Shows:
South Park, Family Guy, House
Favorite Movies:
My favorite movie of all time when I was a teenager was ‘Revenge of the Nerds’ and that’s all I’m saying.

Growing your own herbs is cost effective, rewarding and tasty.

You see the cooking shows where they use fresh herbs and it makes the dish look so much more appealing and taste better. Growing fresh herbs is very easy and can be done anywhere. All you need is a container with dirt, seeds, water and light.

Cardboard egg crates make good containers. Place them in shallow trays to water them from the bottom. You can buy starter pots that come with their own trays at your local home and garden store. A small 8qt bag of potting mix should be enough to fill up tw… Continue

Why Use A Stamp?

There are many ways to save on stamps, paper and a trip to the post office or billing site. Every stamp is worth about 5 miles of driving.

Online Bill Pay
If you have a checking account that offers online bill pay, take advantage of this feature. Some banks even offer to have your bills electronically delivered to your account reducing paper. You can view a history of bills paid and even keep a record of your bills. Some banks offer this feature for free and some charge a fee. Check arou… Continue

Take Advantage of Your Local Discount Grocery Store

Take Advantage of Your Local Discount Grocery Store
They’re the ones that carry most off brands but feature a small variety of brand name products. At my Save-a-lot I like their brand of dairy, some of their canned foods and frozen foods.

Check your coupon organizer
When you run across name brand items, sometimes they are a spill over from a sale at other stores and will still carry the sale price or even less. Take advantage and stock up.

Test taste it

Tips On Preparing For Thanksgiving

I have experienced a stereotypical bad Thanksgiving meal where someone is ‘outed’, old wounds are rehashed and fighting ensues. I’ve also experienced a happy family affair with every one planning and preparing for the holiday weekend together. I think the secret to a good day is keeping your schedule open because sometimes not every thing goes according to plan.

Communicate with family about what will be on the Thanksgiving dinner menu. Offer up different versions of a recipe or have ot… Continue

Different Ways of Paying Yourself Each Month

I’ve always heard that you should pay yourself first before you calculate your monthly budget. I have always tried to set aside at least 10% each month but lately it has been pretty hard to put anything back without borrowing from it before months end. I have found some ways to put back what I need and in the process I have learned to live on a smaller budget.

 Take advantage of your employer and enroll in direct deposit. Have a percentage of your paycheck automatically deposited into a saving… Continue

I was really touched by your "About Me" section. I am so glad you joined our community, it sounds like you have a lot of great advice to offer our members. You are a great writer and I am looking forward to reading about the alternatives you have implemented that are helping you save money. You are definitely right in saying "even if it’s only a few dollars that could mean a lot to someone out there." That's what the CoolSavings Community is all about :)
