Save Big. Shop the Halloween Clearance.

Halloween is over. Do you know what that means? Time to go shopping for Halloween stuff! Everything but the candy of course. This week be on the lookout for retailers slashing prices as much as 50%, 75% and even 90% off Halloween items! Stock up on decorations and costumes for next year now at a fraction of the cost. Think ahead and see if there is anything Halloween related that you buy almost every year. If you have a child in school like I do, now is a great time to stock up on goody bags for their classmates next year and all the things you normally put inside such as pencils, stickers and spider rings. It is also a great time to stock up on all the decorations you would like to decorate your home with, but would never pay retail prices for. I would never pay $30 for certain Halloween decorations, but would definitely buy them for $5 on clearance. Since those decorations can be reused year after year, it's an even better deal.

You will want to be a little more careful with costumes. Classic costumes such as witches, vampires, pirates, princesses etc. will never go out of style, but this year's blockbuster hit (such as Transformers) might not excite you or your child as much next year. You are probably better off getting a classic superhero costume such as Superman or Batman instead. Also, be sure to remember to buy your child's costume a size or two bigger. Or, snatch up all those clearance costumes and turn them into Christmas gifts. Kids love to play dress up! Imagine how delighted they would be to get a chest full of costumes to play with. Little girls will have hours of fun dressing up to be a princess, singer or fairy, and little boys will love pretending to be a pirate or a favorite superhero.
