Are you up to your eyeballs in Halloween candy? Do you want to get it out of your house without actually throwing it away? Here are a couple of options:
Through the Halloween Candy Buy Back project, you can take your extra candy to local participating dentists who will pay you $1 per pound and then send it to American troops stationed overseas through Operation Gratitude. Check out the Web site to find participating dentists near you.
In addition, various local Catholic Charities organizations are accepting Halloween candy for distribution to people served by their mission. The candy will be distributed at soup kitchens as well as in Christmas stockings. Some of the organizations are also accepting new or gently used Halloween costumes for next year. Contact your local Catholic Charities to find out more.
